New Zealand wedding photographer

We felt very at-ease having Laura capture our special day - even the intimate bits. She captured every aspect of our day flawlessly with incredible detail and composition in her shots. Our family and friends are honestly blown away by how good the preview shots were and so are we.

We travel all over New Zealand to photograph weddings

We are lucky enough to have shot weddings all over the North Island and South Island of New Zealand. The jaw-dropping beauty of the diverse scenery offers an ideal playground for a New Zealand wedding photographer. For couples planning their New Zealand wedding, one of the challenges might be to decide what kind of landscape they would like as the backdrop of their wedding photos. There's just so much to choose from!

We love the variety of weddings we have had the honour to be part of in New Zealand; from relaxed inner city gatherings to vibrant celebrations with bonfires on the beach to hidden retreats nestled in the bush and much more. We've compiled a few of our favourite places so far on this page.

Laura photographed our wedding out in the middle of nowhere. She was so easy to work with from start to finish and gave us many helpful tips for optimal photos. She was great during the portrait photos, by guiding us thoughtfully and making the process feel natural. I loved her candid shots of the day and the artistic shots of the venue. When looking for photographers the Valo portfolio had me looking forward to how they would be for our wedding, but they really exceeded my expectations. Some of my favourite photos of the day were things that I would have never have thought to take photos of but, with a great photographer I now have some very special photos of our very special day.

A documentary approach to New Zealand weddings

New Zealand isn't really famous for stable and predictable weather patterns; on the contrary, a passing storm can roll in on an otherwise sunny day right when the outdoor ceremony is about to kick off (yes, that's happened!). Tip: When choosing your New Zealand wedding venue, it's always good to check out the wet weather option.

No matter what the sky decides to bring on on any given day, we're always prepared to either follow you into the storm or to stay indoors, whatever feels right for you. In the end, we see our role as telling your story in its truest form as it happens. Our approach to New Zealand weddings is documentary focused and we put extra effort into composing beautiful images of moments happening throughout the day – not just during the portrait session.

If you feel connected with our work, we'd love to hear from you!
